The Saturday Call Board – Introduction

Attention Railroad Owners and Operators

Are you finding it difficult to find operators to make your model railroad come alive? Or are you coming up cold finding railroads to operate on? Here is the opportunity to make those problems a thins of the past. It will work much like a railroad’s call board, so let’s call it that “The Saturday Call Board”. As the name implies, this is for operations on Saturdays.

For railroad owners, it will be up to them to decide which Saturday to host a session. Ideally the railroad owner will contact me forty five to thirty days prior to the event. It will be up to the individual railroad owners to decide the time of day (morning, afternoon, or evening).

For operators, I will be contacting you about open position and where they are. Operators will be contacted until all the available positions are filled. When the next operating session is scheduled, I will continue down the list. Operators will be listed in the order they sign up on the call board, there is no seniority system here.

There is a set of rules and a code of conduct for operators and railroad owners. These will be published on the Nutmeg Division website. The planned target for “live” on this endeavor is February 2024, after the Amherst Railway Society Railroad Hobby Show.
