2025 Modeling Challenge
The Nutmeg Division is excited announce our 2025 Modeling Challenge! This is a modeling competition where our members are invited to participate and win a special prize.
The prize this year is a $100 gift card to Trainworld.
The theme of this year’s contest is “Toy Train Rehab”. In order to compete, the modeler must take an old toy train car and refurbish it with improved wheels, couplers, and details, to bring it up to modern modeling standards.
You may start with any old trainset-type car, that has snap-in trucks (starting with a car with screw-in trucks is not allowed). In HO scale, examples would be Tyco, AHM, Life-Like, Bachmann, or similar. Cars in other scales are eligible too, provided they meet the criteria on the post linked below.
Please review the post linked below, which outlines the specific rules and requirements for eligibility. Questions may be directed to: vml.nmranutmeg@gmail.com.
Please remember that you and your model must be present at our December meeting in Wethersfield, CT to be eligible to win. The winner will be chosen by popular vote, by the meeting attendees.
